Recently Cody and myself decided to go down to the local gym to check it out. We always ignored it as an option because it looked tiny and we live in a tiny town...anyway. We liked the gym! All assessments were timed for 1 min. and taken wearing wraps and 14oz gloves. The numbers respresent the amount of punches/kicks thrown during that one min.

This weekend I took the plunge and signed up for my first Jiu Jitsu class. This one, again, being taught by Graciela. I also signed up for another kickboxing class. I can say, I'm pretty damn excited. I'm hesitant about somethings, mostly the way I set it up. First kickboxing in the morning, immediately followed by Jiu Jitsu. Injury - Saturday Cody and I were going over kickboxing drills next to the pool and I jarred my shoulder. What happened was I was hitting a right cross and near my extension he moved the pad forward and my arm/shoulder got jarred backwards. I've been put into 2 instances recently that I would typically do with alcohol and I abstained. Been keeping food logs. According to the scale I've lost weight but I don't believe that thing. However, my workout pants are beginning to fall down. I guess we'll just keep an eye on things. Without alcohol my sinuses seem to be doing a lot better. Also ( Read more... )

Kick Boxing: Well, I got to do a demo today during class. She called on me to do a round kick, right jab, slip, left cross, right jab, crescent kick.
